Day 13 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Hampshire

Early morning, glorious light, Lollo and I were ready to board a ferry from Ouistreham in France to Portsmouth in England.

Ouistreham Harbour
Brittany Ferry’s check-in

Yesterday evening, while I was having a glass of wine, lots of sports cars were driving around. Some of them were today queuing to board the same ferry as me. I asked if they had been to “Le Mans”, as the famous race track was not far from there and indeed they enjoyed some racing there.

The last ferry Lollo and I took was two years ago from Albania to Italy. The crew put a blue cushy pillow on Lollo and locked her in place.

The ship was not crowded and the 6 hours passed, while watching a movie and writing a blog article.

The Normandie

Soon everything was going to change: a new country, new language, new currency, imperial system but most importantly: driving on the left side of the road 🥳

I spent an hour visiting Portsmouth but there was not much to see, so I headed to Hampshire, where I was going to visit my friend Ross. On the way I stopped at a Moto Caffè recommended by him, called Loomies.

Funny signs for bikers 😁

It was great to meet Ross and his smart dog Jake. Together we went out for dinner in a nice pub with a pint of Guiness.
