The camping La Poche was a nice little place with big cicadas.

Here is an idea of my itinerary through France. Consider that I also knew I wanted to get to Strasburg. The rest is improvising based on recommendations, Internet searches and adventure instinct.

I thought the center of France would be boring and flat instead I standed corrected. I kept crossing mountains up to 1.200 meters.
At one point I was almost sure I had a puncture in my rear tire, so I stopped to check and to my surprise it was the gravel on the road. It was not the first time that I dealt gravel but the amount this time was a lot and it looked like asphalt. Even cars where sliding over it.

Down to the valley, I saw this and it was clear that I had to stop and have a deeper look

I’m definitely attracted by castles, especially those with a view like this one. Lollo was waiting in the main square, the road ahead was going to climb again and we even got some heavy rain this time.

The altitude reached again 1.200 meters and we arrived to a characteristic town in mountain called Allanche. I was going to a little “Magasin” to refill my water supply, while I saw a fountain of fresh water. On the side the welcoming sign: Eau Potable. When above 1.000m, there are no doubts about the water quality.
The air was fresh and clear and the engine was giving its best . A sign informed me that I was in Auvergne, the vulcanic region. I change the sat nav to a camping nearby as I was hoping to see this.

The camping I found was even tinier than the previous one but definitely a keeper, with cute details and a tasty selection of artisanal beers.
The heavy rain soon reached me. Luckily my tent was already pitched and I was trying somw of the beers under a roof.
