Day 7 🇫🇷 Combe Laval and Lavender

The night was relaxing.

The morning started in the same way the evening before ended: with a gorgeous view from my tent.

Good morning!

It’s not easy to find a good meal in France but the sweets balance the situation. The boulangeries are always full of delicious things. So this morning, for breakfast I stopped at one.

On the road I met a Swiss-Italian biker while waiting at a traffic light for roadworks. Later I passed an active nuclear power plant.

The landscape began to change and some mountains where approaching. I was on the right track to drive one of the most spectacular roads of France. Le tour des Grand-Alps must be great and it’s definitely on my list but this pass called “Combe Laval” it’s very particular.

Before getting to it, I stopped in Saint-Jean-en-Royans for lunch.

A typical meal with beef tartare and a raw egg on top.

Finally I got there:

I made at least a 600 Km detour to see this road but it was worth it. Have a look at the video below. I also met two German guys from a town very close to my place called Erlangen and we spent a good half an hour chatting together.

The cliff on the right side is 300m high!

I was not far from the “Provence“ region and its beautiful laveder fields so I kept driving South and found this twisty road. Lollo rumbled.

After the pass, I got the view I was looking for.

Happy and satisfied I completed my 300 Km daytrip passing the town of Crest, with its massive castle and landing at the calm camping La Poche.
