I woke up to a cold morning with dark clouds but luckily it didn’t rain. For this tour I got some new gear:

Last year it was really hot so for this tour I got a new helmet and a jacket from Germot, made out of mesh. The additional breathability is brilliant with temperatures above 25 degrees Celaius but today the thermometer stops at 18 degrees: a bit fresh 😅 but doable.

While at the camping I saw some photos of an impressive castle nearby, which I immediately set as my next stop in the Sat Nav: Schloß Lichtenstein.

Built on a tall rock, the castle offers a jaw dropping view of the surrounding valley. I enjoyed a lot walking around it and discovering every corner.
Time to head to Strasburg. As the Black Forest approached, the roads got twisty and the view stunnig.

On the way I crossed a city called Freudenstadt with a magnificent giant square and a very special flair. Hard to describe it but it was a pleasure to walk there.

At around 6pm I arrived in Strasburg, parked Lollo in my friends garage and spent the evening with her and her family. We drank Picon, a typical apertif, mixed with beer and enjoyed the sunset from the rooftop.
