Everytime I have to leave home, it’s not easy. Leave my wife and the kids, embarking for a new journey with no real plan, except for the idea to visit some friends. I don’t know where in the upcoming days I will sleep, eat, drive. Things will come as I go and gather some ideas from people I will meet on the way. Mixed feelings: on one side leaving home for so long, on the other side the adventure that awaits.
I had to pick a day to begin my tour and it was supposed to be Wednesday June 21st. The official summer’s begin. Well… it rained all the night and rained again just before lunch. I’m ok to ride in the rain but if I can avoid it, even better. I found the opportunity to stay a day longer at home appealing and so I postponed the tour start to Thursday.
The day after the weather was much better. And so it began. The only thing I knew was that I was heading to Strasburg in France 🇫🇷 to visit my very good friend Candice and her family. I also wanted to start slow and get used again to long trips with Lollo. My Garmin sent me South of Stuttgart, where I decided to stay at the canping Pfählhof in Bad Urach.

Nothing spectacular but I found a nice trail on the App Komoot from that spot. Abou 6Km walk in the woods, very refreshing after the heat of the day.

Everything went smooth. I just realised how much I missed the camping chair I decided to leave at home. I’ve a small matt to seat on but next time I’ll squeeze the camping chair in my bags.
