Today I was back on my Ducati chasing curves. The destination was another national park to visit the Adršpach-Teplice Rocks. More on that later.
I left around 9am and really had some good fun driving the first kilometres across the woods. One thing that strikes me is the amount of railroads even in the most remote locations on the hills and how the hundreds related crossing are implemented. In a city the railroad crossing looks as expected with lots of lights and barriers. As soon as you are in the country side, you are on your own:
No barriers. Sometime even no lights! Just a stop sign. I had situations where the railroad was in the woods and I couldn’t see much, plus my desmo engine makes any external sounds useless 😁
It’s like: there might be a train and it could hurt but it’s up to you to stop and check 😂 Every time it’s a thrill.
On the way I passed a town call Jablonné v Podještědí and took some photos.
Further ahead I thought for a second to be in south-east Asia as I saw this:
I couldn’t keep my eyes of it. A quick route change and I found myself climbing the roads to the top. I don’t know if I enjoyed more the view from the top or the slaloms in the forest. Wow, wow, wow!
The „pagoda” shaped tower turned out to be a hotel restaurant with a cable car 🚡 and a great 360 degrees view.
This stop wasn’t planned and it turned out to be the highlight of the day.
Back on the road, I had my lunch break in a small town with a beautiful restaurant. I ordered half kilo of mussels cooked with white wine, a big bottle of water and paid including tip just shy of 9€. Plus they gave me a pill… I knew it was supposed to be used to clean the hands but have a look at the magic:
After a total of 4h drive time I made it to the camping site. It was 3:30pm and it was supposed to be stormy at around 3pm but I managed to do everything before the rain began. My luck 🍀
I had also the time to fix my first major breakdown:
As a reward for the fix I got some chips and a beer 😂
Meanwhile in a lost pub somewhere in Czech Republic : Italy European Champion!!!!
