Day 3 🇨🇿 Lost in Bohemia

It rained all the night but I managed to remain dry. The water kept pouring the whole night and according to the weather forecast, it was going to continue the whole day.

The rain as it felt in the tent

So the night before I packed the motorcycle and took out the rain-overall, preparing myself for a wet ride.
To my surprise the rain stopped around 7am. I had some fresh cherries 🍒I bought the day before for breakfast and dried the tent with a cloth the best I could. While packing I realised all my stuff was not going to fit again in the bags. Something had to go and the choice fell on the table and chair, which I gave as a present to Jakob, the camping guy. He thanked me and off I went to chase curves in Bohemia.

The roads are quite narrow and curvy, especially if you take the side roads. I truly enjoyed the ride even if there were way too many road blocks and detour.
I should have drove almost a straight line from Pilsen to Mezna and instead ended up with the route below 😂:

Sometimes I complain about the too many detours „Umleitungen“ in Germany. Well, Germany is nothing to Czech Republic in this regard. I won’t lie: after the 3rd detour or 10+ Km I began to be impatient but then I thought about my definition of adventure „the unexpected“ and went with the flow. I ended up seeing a charismatic pilgrimage church from the distance called Mariánský Týnec and made a stop enjoying a snack my wife gave me for the trip.

Mariánský Týnec

At one point due to a detour of a detour I really got lost. The sat nav was „on track“ but I believe I was the first foreigner in that part of the world 😂 A truly rural place.

A car had been following me for twenty minutes or so and I needed to stop to check a noise from the front wheel. It was nothing but the car stopped in the same spot and a man got out.
His name was Jenske, he spoke only Czech but we managed to understand each other. He told me he also had a motorcycle in the past but had a bad accident with a truck. He offered to guide me out of that labyrinth and for half an hour he was my guide. As we reached the main road, he even pointed put the speed radars. Very kind of him and such a nice encounter.

Jenske and his car with trailer.

Jenske and I split ways at a junction waving 👋🏻 hands. He didn’t know, he made my day.
Here are some impressions on the way including an house fully covered in ivy (might be an idea if you are unsure about the color).

I was heading for a camping in the woods and while approaching my destination, I was wondering why I was in a city. It turned out the camping address on Tripadvisor (integrated in the sat nav) was wrong 😑 Another 29Km to drive… And there it is, the confirmation that you gotta go with the flow. I ended up on a very narrow road crossing the hills. The curves were simply brilliant! Below is a short clip at slow speed.

At last I reached my destination, only to be blocked by a policeman 👮‍♂️who forced me to turn of the engine. The camping was just 150m from me. He didn’t let me drive any meter further as they were expecting an incoming women cycling tour. So I had to wait.

Since it was just 4pm I had the clever idea to go for hike. The weather was clearly getting worse. That’s how it ended up:
